Our building program met another milestone this week when our foundation was poured. We are on track with the construction schedule as published, with an end summer finish date. In the coming days we will see the walls erected for the first floor. Of interest, the walls are ICF or Insulated Concrete Forms. The cavity within the forms is filled with concrete to create the permanent wall. The design includes a rigid thermal insulation that stays in place as a permanent interior and exterior substrate with excellent insulation. Church of Our Savior expects to save substantially on heating and cooling costs as a result of the ICF process.
A photo of the new slab is enclosed.
Also, our altitude is documented as 8 feet by the required elevation certificate. (This puts us out of the designated flood zone.)
