Jim McCaslin graduated from Virginia Theological Seminary with a Master of Divinity degree and was ordained in 1994 following a career as a U.S. Army Officer, where he served as a Soviet Affairs Specialist. He first served as an assistant rector at Truro Church in Fairfax, Virginia and then moved to Jacksonville, Florida in 1996, serving first as an assistant at the Church of the Redeemer and then as Rector for All Souls Church. He also served as Interim Rector of Calvary Anglican Church prior to the merger of Calvary and Resurrection to form Church of Our Savior in 2013. Jim currently serves as an Assisting Priest at Our Savior.
Prior to the formation of the Anglican Church in North America, Jim served as Dean of the Southeastern Convocation in the Anglican Communion Network. Currently his primary position is on the diocesan staff, where he has served as the Assistant to the Bishop (Canon to the Ordinary) of the Gulf Atlantic Diocese since 2009.
Jim has been joyfully married to his wife Ginny since 1985, and they are blessed to have six children and ten grandchildren. Jim and Ginny have both known the heartache of divorce and have come to understand why God’s best for us is life-long marriage between one man and one woman. As sinners saved by the amazing grace of God, we rejoice that He is a God of second chances.
Jim has committed himself to preaching and teaching the unchanging Word of God so that all might come to a saving knowledge of His grace and love. He wants all who come to Our Savior to know the fullness of God’s transformation, loving Him and serving others as surrendered and submitted disciples of Jesus Christ. Jim sees worship of the Living God in spirit and in truth as the high point of our lives and the foundation for all genuine ministry and mission.
