David Ball has deep roots on the First Coast. Born on the Westside of town, he spent his middle school and high school years living in Atlantic Beach and playing sports for the Bolles School. An All State offensive lineman, he started for two State Championship teams (1993 and 1995) before moving to Chapel Hill, NC, to earn a BA in Religious Studies from UNC.
Following college David accepted a two-year internship in Falls Church, VA, where he learned more about pastoring a church while serving as Study Assistant to The Rev. Dr. John Yates II of The Falls Church. To answer God’s call to the Priesthood, David entered Trinity School for Ministry in Pittsburgh, PA, where he earned a Masters in Divinity. During his seminary years, he worked as a cook at the Allegheny Country Club in Swickly, an experience that led to an ongoing interest in cooking as a hobby.
After his graduation from Trinity and ordination to the Priesthood in the Anglican Church, David enthusiastically began his life’s work of proclaiming God’s truth, grace, and love.
David has been serving as an ordained minister in the Anglican Church since 2005, serving churches in Virginia Beach, VA, and Pawley’s Island, SC. He returned to his home turf on the First Coast in 2009 to help build a new Anglican congregation at the beaches. The new Congregation became Resurrection Anglican Church and joined the Gulf Atlantic Diocese of the Anglican Church in North America in January, 2013. Resurrection Anglican Church was united with Calvary Anglican Church in April of 2013 and the union was renamed Church of Our Savior. The congregation meets in a historic church building belonging to the Beaches Area Historical Society on Beach Boulevard in Jacksonville Beach.
David is married to Gracie Carter Ball from Virginia Beach, VA, and they have four young children, Hayes, Carter, Chess and Anna.
