Getting a Handel on the Messiah

Handel's MessiahMore than 250 years ago in 18th century England, two gifted and talented Anglican Christians were inspired by God to create what would turn out to be a musical classic of praise and adoration for God’s Messiah, Jesus, the One who was and is and is to come. We call this classic simply Handel’s Messiah.

Join us on Wednesday evenings as we explore the origin, background, and Scriptural foundation for this anointed and inspirational Gospel Oratorio. The Messiah has been performed every year since 1742, and its popularity is now unprecedented. Not only will we look at the Biblical texts that make up this masterpiece, but also we’ll hear selections from the Messiah and even join in singing along with some of them.

Youth Program (Ages 5 and up)

Upstairs in the Cranmer Fellowship Room our youth will enjoy their own time of study, fellowship, and fun. This time will be led by Chris McCarthy and Jen Crews and will allow our older youth to help guide and teach our younger children in the truth of God and His Holy Word. Parents may drop their children off just prior to 6:45 pm and pick them up at 7:45 pm. Please contact Chris McCarthy (904-885-6478) if you have any further questions.

Music Program

Our Music Director, Rebecca Stevens, would love to work with you and help you to develop your singing voice. If you are interested in working on your musical gift, please contact Rebecca and let her know. There will also be an opportunity for those who would like to help volunteer with our audio ministry to come and learn more about how our systems work.
