The Five Solas: Exploring and Celebrating the Reformation

Luther Nailing 95 Theses To Church DoorThis year marks the 500th year since a then obscure Augustinian Monk named Martin Luther posted 95 reasons the church needed to change on the cathedral door in Wittenberg, Germany. Those 95 Thesis, as they are known, together sparked a flame that is still burning bright today. The reformation of the church first and foremost brought the Word of God to the people so that they could finally for themselves know the grace and mercy of God in His Son Jesus Christ. There are five key doctrines of the reformation, which are known as the “Five Solas:”

  1. Sola Scriptura (Scripture Alone),
  2. Sola Fide (Faith Alone),
  3. Sola Gratia (Grace Alone),
  4. Sola Deo Gloria (Glory to God Alone), and
  5. Sola Christus (Christ Alone).

Each week we explore one of these key doctrines and discuss the freedom, the hope, and the joy that accompany such wonderful truths.

Youth Program (Ages 5 and up)

Upstairs in the Cranmer Fellowship Room our youth will enjoy their own time of study, fellowship, and fun. This time will be led by Chris McCarthy and Jen Crews and will allow our older youth to help guide and teach our younger children in the truth of God and His Holy Word. Parents may drop their children off just prior to 7:00 and pick them up at 8:00. Please contact Chris McCarthy (904-885-6478) if you have any further questions.

Music Program

Our Music Director, Rebecca Stevens, would love to work with you and help you to develop your singing voice.
