Councils, Creeds, and Confessions: Staying grounded in Christian truth amidst a constantly changing culture.
Our current study focuses on the early Christian Church.
We begin by gathering at 6 pm to share a meal together, which will be followed by programs for all age groups. Children under the age of 5 are invited to our Nursery, which is located on the ground floor of our new building. The study programs will finish up around 7:30 pm.
Adults will specifically be studying together the first councils and creeds of the church, which we continue to confess today as the bedrock of our faith. The church has always faced the challenge of staying true to the “faith that was once for all delivered to the saints” (Jude 1:3 Open in Logos Bible Software (if available)) in the midst of the ever-changing spirits of the age. Every generation has its own fashionable ideas about God and the world, but we must work to stay grounded in the truth of God’s word and the councils and creeds of the early church help us to do just that. Come join us on Wednesday nights as we engage in this most important topic through the video teachings of Dr. Ryan Reeves, Professor of Historical Theology at Gordon Conwell Seminary and group discussion of these most important teachings.
As always, come for dinner at 6 pm in the Fellowship Room and stay for our study, which begins at 6:45.
